Why do some
aprons "EXPLODE" in the Wash Machine?
This a very simple question but it has a not so simple answer! Many firms selling aprons have never been in the Laundry business and do not actually understand textile maintenance or manufacturing! They resell products and rarily understand the content of the fabric or where it originates! Apron fabric that currently is produced in the USA currently is industry standard! This is not to say that foreign countries do not make good fabrics, but they traditionally are used in the retail trade and not for apron material! We add soap to the wash, soap is a lubricant, and as the load is lubricated the garments rub against each other creating the friction that loosens the soil! WOW, simple answer! This friction is what wears out the fibers, there for what fabric you use determines Garment Life. Good fabrics usually cost a little bit more but they last longer! |

Purchase smart and practice textile maintenance. All textiles must be washed and rotated on a regular basis. In time white goods will become yellow and deteriorate! Wash all goods immediately and put in service! Too much bleach causes the yellowing - this means the fabrics are burning an will return to their original state. Yes, folks, you bleach and a chemical process oxycellulous activates - the stuff turns to paper! Remember, bar mops if washed with just soap and water may have a gray look but they will last twice as long. Don't soak them in a sink with bleach your just making paper! Also if you invest in a grill cleaning tool and don't wipe the grill with bar mops dish towels and chef caps - you will save!Suppose this Happened At Your Hotel! You woke up and OB an unpaid guest was sharing the room! The desk clerk and housekeeper had no clues and you couldn't call the Police! The first clue was that all the linen in the room dull and had a yellow Hue! It was OB known in the trade as Optical Brightener! The local soap suds representative had told you that he was selling so much bleach that textiles were burning up and turning yellow! To solve the problem they introduced an optical brightener that made every thing whiter, covered up the yellow burns and no one could tell! He said "Hey we just tell the customer that they are buying inferior textiles they don't know! |
