All chef coats are the same, aren't they?
Well, in fact they are not. Some are more expensive and very elegant.

You don't need a platinum dish to cook a donut!
If you are a first time or experienced buyer? Chef Apparel should be purchased with a plan! The correct recipe will produce good taste!

You want a good fit, the correct and durable, yet comfortable.

Fabric is important! Our most durable best fitting and reasonably priced garments are made of polyester, a man-made fiber, and cotton! Cotton lets the garment breathe and makes you feel comfortable, and the poly adds durability and heat resistance! The twill weave gives a hard, but good looking fresh finish! If you have ever been in the military, you wore twill uniform pants - they last a long time!
The coat should be made from domestic twill also to protect from heat and food splash. Twill is a durable weave. It is very tight with a hard finish. It resists soil (soil rolls off). You can also buy aprons like ours that have a soil retardant in the fabric!

How many do I need?
The correct par is: One in the wash! One on the shelf! One on the employee!
This formulae will give you enough inventory to give all the garments a rest between washing! We have all seen the apron and chef coat that are limp because they have been washed to death!

Does it have to be white?
No, you can buy color if you want. White is a tradition, it gives the impression of cleanliness. Today many chefs are in open kitchens.

Please measure each employee.
This avoids restocking charges when you call me and say they don't fit! I go "Hmm! You mean they Don't fit? Well, restocking is a 15% charge! This is an industry rule!"

To Hem or not to Hem? It is not a question of having your pants hemmed. It's a matter of where you want them to be hemmed! The internet is a great, and expedient way to buy products, but it does have a few glitches. Individual customization of small orders is one of them. Having worked for the major garment manufacturer's in the US, I can tell you that you are better off buying pants unhemmed on-line, and having them hemmed to your exact length locally. The problem is that your measurement of the inseam may differ from the length we measure when we hem your pants. You get your pants back either to short or to long. If the problem can be fixed, your pants will be in transit for 2 - 4 weeks between the factory, and your residence. Hopefully, you have other pants to wear! If the problem cannot be fixed, someone is going to eat the cost of the pants, and the freight both ways. Neither of us wants to do this. I am 6' 1" and have a 31" inseam. Odd size, I know. Off the rack it's a crap shoot. Sometimes I can fit in a 32" inseam, a 30", and if I am lucky I can find a 31" inseam. It depends on the brand. So if you give me the inseam on a pair of pants you have, for us to hem your new pair, it's a crap shoot as to whether it will actual fit you correctly when you receive the new pants. My suggestion, hem locally where you are physically measured by a seamstress, or buy baggy chef pants with elastic on the cuff of the pant.

Note: men's and woman's pants are constructed differently and cost the same!
